Irises ‘n’ Art


Host: South Canterbury Iris Group

Dates: Friday 15 to Monday 18 November 2019

Convention Venue: Timaru. In house day will be West End Hall.

Convention fees: $250.00 per person

The fee includes: light finger food on Friday evening, lunch and Convention dinner on Sunday, lunch on Monday. Morning and afternoon teas are available each day. Saturday: Meals not included, only afternoon tea will be provided.

If you are not able to car pool with someone else from your motels and require transport to Seven Oaks, West End Hall or Caroline Bay please advise Lynda as early as possible so we can organise transport for you.

Friday 15 November, at Seven Oaks Reception Centre, 64 Wai-iti Road, Timaru.

Registrations from 5.00 pm, meet and mingle, 6.00 pm nibbles and drinks.
7.00 pm Opening by Mayor, introductions from Andi Rivarola and Gary White our guest speakers and book launch : Why Irises? written by Gwenda Harris.
Judging Dorothy McLachlan Trophy – please have entries staged by 5.30 pm

Saturday 16 November

8.30 am Buses leave Caroline Bay for Geraldine Arts & Plants market day. You will be free to wander the many stalls and shops for the morning and after getting your own morning tea and lunch from one of the many options available meet the buses again at 12.45 pm.
Visit three gardens in Geraldine area and conclude with afternoon tea.
Evening free.

Sunday 17 November – 9.00 am West End Hall, 35a Maltby Avenue, Timaru.

An in house day with our guest speakers, judging workshop, judges exam, AGM, and auction.
5.30 – 6.30 pm happy hour at Seven Oaks, 64 Wai-iti Road
7.00 pm dinner
Guest speakers and presentation of awards

Monday 18 November – 8.30 am

Buses leave Caroline Bay heading south for a day of garden visits, sales tables and handing over of banner. We expect to be back in Timaru by 5.00 pm.
